We start our second week at Green’s new shop this week. We have also just returned (for those of you who haven’t heard us banging on about it, or live under rocks as we have been VERY annoying) from the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society Conference.
Being early birds and eager beavers we were the first to arrive so table chosen, set up done, and coffee downed before most rocked on up to join in the fun.
The conference was specifically for vets, nurses & trainee’s who either feed raw, are totally new to it or for those looking to learn more about it in general. Fresh raw brands, such as ourselves, were there to show the varied choices available nationally.
The day was spent flitting between talks & talking to vets & nurses about Green’s food and raw feeding in general. Hartpury college is such a beautiful location with great characterful buildings.
One very important talk was from Anna Hielm-Bjorkman PI, DVM, PhD, CVA (IVAS) Assistant professor with DOGRISK & research group leader from the university of Helsinki .
Anna & her team are conducting research on nutrition, environmental & genetic factors of canine diseases & cancer detection dogs. This program is badly needed for dogs all over the world and needs funding and researchers so if you can offer either please follow the link below.
The Raw Veterinary Society maybe in its infancy but is growing in numbers & is already proving to be quite meaty (pardon the pun) in its education & evidence based approach. If you know of a vet or nurse that isn’t a member or aware of it then please share. The more that gain knowledge in nutrition can only benefit our beloved pets.
We met friends old , new & look forward to supporting the RFVS in the years to come.
